Sanctuary Model® Evaluation Project (2006 – present)
Under contract with the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, the Child Welfare Training Program monitors and evaluates the training, technical assistance and implementation activities of the Sanctuary Model® within select voluntary child welfare agencies and Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth facilities. The Sanctuary Model® is a trauma-informed method for creating or changing an organizational culture. Training and consultation services are provided by faculty experts from the Sanctuary Institute at the Andrus Children’s Center in Yonkers, NY. The evaluation of the implementation of the Sanctuary Model in New York State is a collaboration of the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Bureau of Evaluation and Research (BER), OCFS Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY), OCFS Division of Child Welfare and Community Services (CWCS), the Andrus Center for Learning and Innovation (ACLI), and Stony Brook University Child Welfare Training Program. |
