Direct Support Staff needed to serve as Coach/Mentor and a general good influence for a neurodivergent college graduate living independently in Nassau County’s south shore. The individual is also on a career search. A Candidate must be an organized mature adult with their own car. Coach/Mentor will join a well-supported team that uses supported decision-making techniques and interactive oversight to support the individual’s ability to create a balance between responsibilities and leisure activities, maintaining and building independent living skills, and explore opportunities for social connections in the community. Interests include SciFi fantasy and crime thriller novels and movies, powerlifting, healthy cooking, gaming, bowling, and the outdoors.
PT flexible hours weekdays, evenings and weekends; Salary $25/hour funded by OPWDD’s Self-Direction using ISS as fiscal intermediary.
