This 3-day course is intended to build skills and abilities of caseworkers who may encounter various components of sexual abuse in their ongoing work with families. It will help improve skills related to their work with victims and offenders by integrating integrates the assessment of safety, risk, and family functioning in the context of sexual abuse.
Through lectures, role plays, films and group discussion and presentation, participants will develop a basic understanding of current theories and the mechanisms and dynamics of child sexual abuse, including the effects of victimization in children.
