The MSW/JD program offers the opportunity to earn an MSW (Master of Social Work) from the School of Social Welfare and a JD (Juris Doctor) from the Touro Law Center in four years, rather than the five which would be required if the degrees were earned separately. Applicants may apply for the dual degree program prior to matriculation or during their enrollment in the first year at either school. Applicants must apply to and be accepted by both schools. If accepted by both schools, the student is automatically eligible for the dual degree program. The first year may be spent at either school, with the choice being up to the student. The second year is spent at the other school, the third year is divided between the two schools and the fourth year is spent primarily at the law school.
Further details about the program will be available on this website in the future and are currently available from the School of Social Welfare Office of Admissions and Student Services at 631-444-3170.
