Dear Colleagues,
The School of Social Welfare community stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and the many Russian and global citizens who oppose the war. We stand with all those who have been impacted by this violence, at home and abroad, and recognize the plight of refugees and victims of armed conflicts around the world. We stand with our social work colleagues, globally, who denounce this senseless violence. As social workers we are called to recognize and respond to injustice and suffering when we see it; advocacy and action are essential to living the values and mission of our profession.
For those impacted by this war, our hearts and minds go out to you. For those who have been impacted by other conflicts, injustices, and violence at home and around the world who may be feeling pain of indifference to your experiences, inequity, and rejection – we also see you.
