Dr. Stephen Rabeno, Clinical Associate Professor and Christopher Carlozzo, senior BSW student, presented at the New York State Social Work Education Association Annual conference held in Saratoga Springs, NY, in October. Their presentation, "The Middle East: Information and Practice Implications for Social Workers", focused on the increased coverage by the media in the past five years and the issues surrounding human rights, socio-economic problems, and violence in and around the Middle East. The workshop was geared to help social work students and those in the helping profession develop an understanding of the region, current events and key terms to provide potential solutions when working with those of middle eastern descent.
