Sawanee Khongsawatwaja Selected for National Leadership Program

Sawanee KhongsawatwajaSawanee Khongsawatwaja, MS, assistant dean of finance and administration at the Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare, has been accepted into the prestigious Emerging Leaders Program—a national leadership development initiative hosted by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).

The program is designed for finance and business professionals from NACUBO-member institutions, and focuses on enhancing leadership capabilities, strengthening cross-campus collaboration, and expanding professional networks.

The 78 participants selected for this year’s cohort represent 69 higher education institutions across 31 states and the District of Columbia. The group is the largest in program history and was selected from the largest applicant pool yet. Thirty-eight colleges and universities have had participants chosen for the program for the first time.

Participants engage in intensive training centered on financial stewardship, strategic planning, and student success—critical areas for advancing within higher education business and finance. Launched in 2021, the Emerging Leaders Program has quickly become a key platform for developing the next generation of higher education business officers.

NACUBO, founded in 1962, is a nonprofit professional organization representing chief administrative and financial officers at more than 1,700 colleges and universities nationwide. NACUBO works to advance the economic vitality, business practices, and support of higher education institutions in pursuit of their missions.
