School of Social Welfare Class of 2025 Convocation

The Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare will honor its Class of 2025 on Tuesday, May 20, at Stony Brook Arena. Dean Shari Miller, staff, faculty, and family members will celebrate students graduating from our PhD, MSW, and BSW programs as they prepare for the next phase of their social work journeys.

Sandra Davidson, LMSW ‘05
Associate Commissioner, New York City Regional Director
NYS Office of Children and Family Services

Sandra Davidson is a Licensed Master of Social Work with over 25 years of experience working with children and families within the child welfare system. Her professional life includes a commitment to serving the needs of the voiceless, ensuring that the children and families who come to the attention of the child welfare system have the necessary resources to improve their own families and individual outcomes.

In her current role as associate commissioner and regional director of New York City with the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), she leads a team of committed individuals responsible for overseeing and monitoring one of the largest child welfare agencies in New York State, the NYC Administration for Children Services (ACS). The ACS provides child protective, preventive, foster care, adoption, and juvenile justice services.
