On Wednesday, March 26, Stony Brook will hold its seventh annual Giving Day — an opportunity to fuel the unstoppable momentum for Seawolves everywhere. For 24 hours, gifts will help transform students into leaders, put ideas into action, and find powerful, measurable solutions across the Stony Brook footprint.
“Giving Day is an exciting opportunity for the Stony Brook community to step forward and support the university in a big way. Every year, I am inspired by our community’s engagement, not just by their generous philanthropic contributions but also by the motivation behind their philanthropy,” said Scott Barrett, interim vice president for advancement. “It’s remarkable to see how many people are driven by the positive impact they can make for our current students and faculty — and, frankly, for generations to come. I look forward to celebrating that impact again this year.”
Last year, generous Stony Brook supporters contributed over $1 million through more than 3,800 gifts, impacting 105 areas of campus. From the arts and athletics to medicine and research, students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends opened doors for our future leaders, healthcare workers, entrepreneurs, and forward thinkers. This year, by providing the critical resources that allow Seawolves to Be Unstoppable, we will unlock opportunities for pivotal student experiences, research that reaches real people, healthier communities near and far, enrichment through arts and culture, and measurable climate progress.
