Student Essay Competition

We are pleased to announce the return of our student essay competition. The views, knowledge and experiences of our global social work student population is of huge importance to us and will hopefully encourage students to consider publishing in our journal and other social work titles as they progress in their studies and careers.

What we are looking for

We are inviting submissions of 2000-2500 words in length. These may be essays that have been submitted as course work or newly written pieces for this competition. The focus and style can vary enormously, and may include reflective pieces, critical literature reviews, empirical studies and practice learning related contributions. What is crucial is that they are rooted in your social work studies and have at their heart an ethical dilemma which you have encountered. Such dilemmas may be based in practice or of a more theoretical nature.

How to submit:

Please email your submission to the editors Richard Ingram (r.d.ingram@dundee.ac.uk) and Jane Fenton (j.fenton@dundee.ac.uk) by Friday 29th January 2021. Entries will be considered by the Editorial Board and winners chosen in February 2021.  The winning essay will be published in an edition of the journal.
