Platform Statement:

As an NASW-NYS Board Member, I will assist the chapter in the creation and execution of a formal Social Media Strategy that includes updated policies and procedures to ensure that NASW-NYS’ social media presence consists of observance days that are representative of the communities that social workers serve. As a priority, these policies and procedures will also include an outline for timely and effective response to arising social issues and community needs. Additionally, I will use my expertise serving LGBTQ+ individuals to advocate for the creation of a SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression) Committee to ensure that LGBTQ+ social workers are given a voice in the chapter’s leadership.
