Congratulations to the Class of 2016

Excitement for the future was in the air as graduates, their families, faculty and friends, hugged and snapped pictures at The School of Social Welfare commencement ceremony on Friday, May 20 at the Staller Center for the Arts. 41 BSW, 170 MSW and 2 Ph.D degrees were awarded. The convocation address was given by Sylvia A. Diaz, Ph.D., LMSW, who earned both her MSW and Ph.D from the School of Social Welfare. She is currently the Executive Director of Suffolk Community College Foundation. Dr. Diaz applauded the graduates for their hard work and dedication in reaching this milestone.

A shared sense of purpose and empowerment was an essential theme of the day’s celebration and was evident at the ceremony and the reception that followed.

" I cannot think of a better historical moment for you to be graduating as effective social workers.  There are so many new and important opportunities for social workers",  said Dr. Jacqueline Mondros, Dean of the School of Social Welfare.

Congratulations 2016 School of Social Welfare Graduates!
