Guillermo Sandoval, M.S.W. Candidate, Appointed To Two Community Boards

May 2016 - Guillermo Sandoval, M.S.W. candidate, 2016 has been appointed as Chairman of the Hispanic Advisory Board for the Town of Brookhaven and chosen for an additional appointment as Vice Commander of VFW Post #400 in Farmingville. “Two of the populations near and dear to my heart, are the Armed Forces Veterans and new struggling immigrants. In these two platforms I plan to use all of my experiences in life. As an immigrant who went from serving in the Marine Corps to the union blue collar workforce and eventually becoming a social worker, I have been well prepared to work with others for the good of all people in need. I am proud of being a Stony Brook University graduate. The school of social welfare has a strong, uplifting and powerful history, a past that suited my soul and insatiable passion for change. I move beyond these halls, but I hope to leave a piece of my heart here, a social worker's main tool. I leave it in spirit, as a symbol and example of my personal past labor, for the next future social worker”, said Mr. Sandoval.
