MSW Student Hosts Teen Dating Violence Workshop as Part of her Field Experience

As part of her field education internship at Brentwood High School- Ross Center, 1st year MSW student Stashanna Farquharson created a poster presentation supporting the prevention of teen dating violence.  Working alongside intern, Michael Baptiste from Adelphi University with guidance from their supervisor, Cindy Reide Combs, LMSW, they provided information on healthy relationships, along with quizzes and resources.   Students at the school were provided with support and additional opportunities to dialogue on the topic in honor of Teen Dating Violence Prevention month in February.

The project began in 2016 with MSW  interns Daria Siefert and Estefania Yactayo, in an effort to reduce the incidence of relationship violence that can affect a school community.  Due to its success, it continued this year.
